Lee Min Ho has topped the list of popular Hallyu stars in China and bagged the most popular South Korean actor award at the Korea Brand Grand Prize 2015. He shared the award with actor-cum-model Lee Jong Suk.
The event was organised by Korea Consumer Forum in collaboration with China's state newspaper, People's Daily.
The winners for the category were selected from a chosen list of ten popular Korean celebrities in China that included Kim Soo Hyun, Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, EXO, CNBLUE, BIGBANG, Super Junior and Girls' Generation, according to Soompi.
The organisers of the Korea Brand Grand Prize 2015 chose the top ten Hallyu stars in China through a field survey conducted by the Chinese media outlet, People's Daily, on its online edition and mobile home pages.
Announcing the winners, a representative of Korea Consumer Forum said (via AllKpop), "In the midst of overwhelming participation and support from Chinese consumers, the voting for '2015 Korea Brand Grand Prize' has concluded. The stars who raised their popularity and earned a lot of love in China through dramas and music earned many votes and were selected for 'This Year's Brand Grand Prize's Hallyu Star' category".
The celebrities thanked fans for their love and support. While the "Gangnam Blues" star said that the award means a lot to him mainly because the winners were chosen by the consumers, "Pinocchio" actor said that he will work even harder in future to represent Korea as a brand.
