"Gangnam Blues" star Lee Min Ho has bagged the Korea Information Society Agency Superiors Award at the Social Network Service (SNS) Industry Grand Award function for his social media influence.
The event, organised by SNS Industry Development Institute, acknowledges various organisations, groups and individuals for their outstanding contribution to the society through online communication.
The award, sponsored by the Ministry of Science, Korean Internet and Security Agency as well as Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Future Planning, was given to the 28-year-old actor for interacting with fans and encouraging them to contribute for various charitable causes, according to Drama Fever.
The celeb is an active member on several social networking sites, including Facebook, Weibo, Twitter, Line and Instagram. He has more than 27.7 million fans on Chinese microblogging website and 16.4 million followers on Facebook.
Apart from starting his own charity platform called Promiz, Min Ho supports several international organisations, including UNICEF. Recently, he had asked his followers on Instagram to help victims of Nepal earthquake.
A statistics by Social Baker states that the "Gangnam Blues" star is more popular than several Hollywood stars such as Zac Efron and Johnny Depp, on Facebook.
While the Korean actor ranks 26 in the popularity list, the other two are at 29th and 32th position, respectively.
