Bollywood star Salman Khan has been regularly celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi for more than 12 years at his Galaxy Apartments residence in Bandra. But this time, the actor welcomed Lord Ganesha at his sister Arpita's apartment, since his home is now under renovation.
"It's that time of the year again when Ganpati Bappa is visiting us, looking forward to it. Can't wait !" Arpita tweeted on Saturday.
Salman along with his family members, including brother Sohail Khan, father Salim Khan, brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, sisters Alvira, Arpita, mother Salma Khan and step-mother Helen, were spotted observing the occasion at his sister's place.
His relatives and friends from the industry came over to Arpita's apartment to pray on the auspicious day.
Meanwhile, Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor also celebrated the festival at RK Studio on Monday. The whole team of Junior MasterChef India was also present at RK Studio on the auspicious day.
After the death of Raj Kapoor in 1988, his three sons - Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv, took the responsibility of organising the festival at the studio.
Apart from the Kapoor and Khan clans, Bollywood stars like Govinda, Jeetendra, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Nana Patekar and Vivek Oberoi among others also celebrated the festival at their residence
Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is one of the most important festivals in Maharashtra. It is a 10-day festival which marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, the son of lord Shiva and Parvati.
The 10-day festival began on Monday (9 September) in India and will end on 18 September.
