Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen will finally meet in Season 7 of Game of Thrones, which is currently in production in Spain.
Photos leaked from the set shows the duo in full costume taking a selfie, and both Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke being together on set has given rise to a number of plot speculations. One of the popular ones seem to be that Jon Snow and Daenerys will join forces to take down Cersei, who claimed the Iron Throne in the previous season of Game of Thrones.
If they succeed in dethroning Cersei, who will take over the Iron throne – Jon or Daenerys? The previous season ended with the revelation that Jon is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, and because of this he has a direct claim to the throne. Also, because kinship travels through male heirs, Jon might be better suited to take over the leadership than Daenerys.
But chances are high that he won't stake a claim to the throne as it is not in his nature. Also, he will have to prove he's Rhaegar's son to assume the throne. If there is no legitimate male heir, then the throne will default to Daenerys.
Meanwhile, a section of fans believe that Jon Snow would give up the throne to save the kingdom from the white walkers. According to one theory, Jon Snow would become the new Night King, who is the leader of the White Walkers, to ensure the safety of people in the south.
Game of Thrones Season 7 will return to HBO in the summer of 2017.
