Although it's going to be nearly a week since "Game of Thrones" season four ended, fans of the series seem to be in no mood to let go of it. Speculations are already underway on what will happen to some the major characters when season five premieres, and from the looks of it the next season will be set in Dorne.
Filming of season five will take place in Spain, and "Game of Thrones" showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Dorne, one of the constituent regions of the Seven Kingdoms, will be featured in the next season.
"There will be Dorne, and we're excited about it. Who wouldn't want to hang out in Dorne? They have admirable values and priorities. And have you seen Oberyn's coat?"
Confirmation of "Game of Thrones" Dorne storyline has given rise to rumors that Myrcella Baratheon, the character essayed by Aimee Richardson, will be recast. Princess Myrcella was last seen in season two, being shipped off to Dorne in tears.
Although Richardson did a wonderful job essaying the character, Winter Is Coming reported that the role of Cersei's only daughter will now go to English actress Nell Tiger Free.
Free is best known for her role as Chloe in the BBC adaptation of Mr. Stink, and the actress recently guest-starred in Endeavour.
Winter Is Here reported, citing unofficial sources, that the upcoming season will feature Myrcella's betrothal to Prince Trystane of Dorne, and that she will have a substantially increased role compared to "A Feast for Crows."
Casting rumors also suggest that several new characters will be joining the series. The show is reportedly casting for Prince Doran Martell, Prince Trystane Martell and Doran's personal bodyguard Areo Hotah.
Other characters set to appear in the next season include The High Sparrow, a pious head of a religious movement, Septa Unella, a relentless and imposing septa, Maggy the Frog, a fortune teller who will be featured in just one episode , Bronn's wife Lollys Stokeworth, Yezzan, a sleazy slave-owner, and The Waif, who is a strange child that Arya encounters, Winter Is Coming reported.
HBO has not confirmed these casting rumors.
