Deaths in season 5 of "Game of Thrones" seem to have started, as Sunday's episode hinted that the lives of Mother of Dragons Daenerys' two trusted advisers, Ser Barristan Selmy and Grey Worm, could be in danger. And the next episode will give us more insight into what's in store for them.
Actor Ian McElhinney, who plays Ser Barristan, recently said in an interview that the implications of the attack will be dealt with in the next few episodes. Although he did not reveal what will happen to Ser Barristan, he told TVGuide that there is a new world dawning.
"As the story develops in [Season] 5, Jorah comes back and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) is arriving, so there's a whole new world coming into Meereen. What the implications of that are, we'll get to find out, but obviously there's a new world dawning," he said.
Talking about the fight, McElhinney said that the sheer number of opponents overwhelmed them. "Sheer numbers. There were two of us against 20 or whatever it was. At the end of the day, their numbers overwhelmed us. So you see us both lying there at the end of the fight session, and you don't necessarily know at that stage the extent of the damage to us, but we're certainly wounded."
And if Daenerys lose these two advisers, it will be a significant loss to the Mother of Dragons as she continues on her journey to claim the Iron Thrones. Although Daenerys has Daario Naharis, his personal equation with Daenerys will not make him an apt advisor, believes McElhinney.
"Somebody like Jorah (Iain Glen) or Daario, they're personally involved with her, so they're harder to read how much their judgement and their wisdom is affected by how they feel about her personally," the actor said.
"Game of Thrones" airs Sundays on HBO.
