The current season of "Game of Thrones" is nearing its end, but fans of the series will have to wait till 1 June to watch the next episode as the series is taking a short break on Memorial Day weekend to give fans an opportunity to celebrate with their families.
In 2012, when "Game of Thrones" was in its second season, HBO had telecast the episode on the Memorial Day weekend. However, the results were abysmal as the episode saw a drop in ratings despite it being the "Blackwater" episode.
Episode eight is titled "The Mountain and the Viper" and it will feature the epic battle between Oberyn Martell, known as the Red Viper, and Ser Gregor, nicknamed "The Mountain." The fight is the perfect opportunity for revenge as Oberyn knows that Gregor was responsible for the rape and murder of his sister Elia, and her children.
"It's one of the best, if not the best, combat scenes we've done so far," co-writer Dan Weiss told Entertainment Weekly. "It's the culmination of 20 years of anger and hatred and thirst for vengeance coming to a head.
"One of the most important characters in the show will live or die based on this fight."
Fans will have to wait till 1 June to know who will die, but speculations are rife that the unfortunate one would be Oberyn.

Besides determining Tyrion's fate, episode eight of season four spells trouble for Littlefinger, the perpetual schemer who was the brains behind most of the tragedies in the series. His motives behind killing his wife will be questioned, and it remains to be seen if Sansa will testify for or against him.
"Lord Baelish has told many lies," Sansa says in the promo. "I have to tell the truth."
Meanwhile, HBO has released the official synopsis of the final three episodes of the season, which will come to an end on 15 June.
