HBO's popular fantasy series "Game of Thrones" season 4 took a shocking turn yet again, with one of the fan favorite characters being killed in episode 8. The new development has added to the unpredictable nature of the story but has left fans disappointed and upset.
Oberyn Martell aka The Viper fights Gregor Clegan aka the Mountain not only to avenge the brutal rape and murder of his sister but also to decide the fate of Tyrion Lannister who could be executed if he loses the fight.
Clegan is wounded and Martell almost stabs him on the chest, shouting "You raped her. You murdered her. You killed her children", referring to his sister and her children, who were brutally killed by the man before him. But as fate has it, Clegan gets back on his feet and kills Martell like the way he killed his sister.
Ellaria Sand screams as her lover was brutally killed. It happened just minutes after she had told Martell "That is the man you're going to fight", to which he replied "That is the man I'm going to kill".
Fans of the series know, from history, that good people are killed by the bad guys but they seem to be really upset this time. Many have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment on Martell's death.

So, what will happen to Tyrion Lannister now that Martell is killed? Will he be executed too?
Fans can expect the unexpected as Lannister could survive despite the death of Martell. More shocking deaths are expected in the upcoming episodes, changing the course of the series.
