Samsung's latest Galaxy S3 has certainly drawn an overwhelming amount of attention since its recent release into the smartphone market this year.

The Galaxy S2 sports a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touch-screen with 800 x 480 pixels resolution and 217 ppi pixel density besides tough Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. On the other hand, the Galaxy S3 features a massive screen at 4.8 inches, with a higher pixel resolution at 720 x 1280 pixels protected by an added layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2.
Dimensions
The Galaxy S2 measures 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5 mm and weighs 116 grams in comparison to the Galaxy S3's 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm which weighs comparatively more at 133 grams. While the former comes in three variant colors of Black, White, Pink, the Galaxy S3 sports a Pebble blue or Marble white framework.
Processor
The Galaxy S2 operates on a Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 processor and includes Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) that's upgradeable to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). Meanwhile, the Galaxy S3 comes equipped with ICS and is backed by the powerful Quad-core Exynos 4212 processor that's clocked to 1.4 GHz.

In terms of memory space, Galaxy S2 comes in 16GB/32GB of internal storage capacity expandable up to 32GB via a microSD slot. Here in India, Galaxy S3 comes in a 16 GB model with a 32GB variant likely in the offing. The device also comes equipped with a microSD slot for memory expansion upto 64GB.

Both devices come packed with a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera capable of capturing images at 3264x2448 pixel resolution. Besides support for autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization the smartphones also have come with video recording capabilities at 1080p at 30fps.
With regards to a secondary camera, Galaxy S3 comes with a lower resolution camera at 1.9 megapixel compared to Galaxy S2's 2 megapixel sensor. Despite the relatively lower pixel for its secondary camera, Samsung has improved the Galaxy S3, adding support for simultaneous HD video and image recording for its camera.
Battery
On the battery front, the Galaxy S2 comes packed with a 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery that touts nearly nince hours of talk time. The S3, on the other hand, promises nearly 12 hours of talktime on its standard 2100 mAh battery.

Samsung's latest third generation comes along with a host of added features, amongst which are S-Voice natural language commands, eye tracker Smart Stay, Smart Call as well as applications for image and video editing.
