Samsung is apparently prepping the launch of a new Galaxy Note 8 variant with Android 7.1.1 pre-installed. The handset is expected to sport an Infinity Display with the same aspect ratio (18:15:9) as the newly-launched Galaxy S8 and S8+, reports Galaxy Club citing internal sources.
Quite surprisingly, the latest leak brings to light meagre details of the handset. However, a recent speculation suggests that the Note 8 will be powered by an Exynos series processor and shipped with 6GB RAM. It is expected to feature a dual camera setup akin to that of iPhone 7 Plus.
Although there is no word on the precise launch date for the Galaxy Note 8, it is expected to be launched sometime in the second half of 2017. With the handset just entering the testing phase, it strengthens our hope that it could be launched by the end of this summer.
Following the Galaxy Note 7 battery explosion fiasco, the forthcoming flagship phablet in the Galaxy series remains the only hope for Samsung to redeem its faith as millions of disappointed customers were forced to return their Note 7 in the wake of its global recall.
