Power Star Pawan Kalyan has quelled rumours surrounding "Gabbar Singh 2", which has reportedly been renamed as "Sardar", by resuming shooting.
The much-hyped movie "Sardar" went on floors at Malshej Ghats in Maharashtra on 29 May. After completing the shooting of the first schedule, the makers took some time to start the next schedule due to Pawan Kalyan's busy political life.
The halt led to speculations that the film has been shelved, with some even reporting that the director of the film has been changed.
Putting all such speculations to rest, Pawan Kalyan has started shooting for "Sardar" at the Aluminium Factory in Hyderabad on Wednesday morning.
Reports say the Power Star will shoot some important sequences, including a crucial action scene, in the suburban areas in the second schedule of the movie.
"Sardar" is said to be set against the backdrop of a village faction and script-writer-turned-director Bobby aka KS Ravindra. The movie is touted to be a power-packed action drama and will be twice as good a blockbuster movie as "Gabbar Singh".
"Double everything that the audiences saw in the first part and you get 'Gabbar Singh 2′. There's more action, more guns and there'll be more of Pawan Kalyan in a completely new avatar," IANS had quoted a source to the production team as saying some months ago.
Pawan Kalyan will flaunt a long beard and long hair in some important scenes of "Sardar". He will be romancing Anisha Ambrose in the film. The makers are contemplating the idea of having a second heroine as well.
"Sardar" is being produced by his close friend Sarath Marrar under his banner Northstar Entertainment. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music, while Jayanan Vincent handles the camera work for the film.
