The trailer of much-anticipated action drama "Gabbar is Back" starring Akshay Kumar is finally out and gives an idea about the plot of the film.
Directed by popular South director Krish, the film features Kumar in the title role as Gabbar.
While Gabbar is known as the nation's biggest villain, who killed innocent people, Kumar in the film plays a hero by actions and a villain by name.
In the three-minute trailer, Kumar is seen dealing with the serious issue of corruption with an aim to make the nation corruption-free. He is seen performing some action sequences, while thrashing some high-profile corrupt people.
Although, the plot of the film is along the lines of Emraan Hashmi starrer "Ungli" that dealt with corruption as well, what caught viewers' attention is the fact that Kumar is redefining the image of the real Gabbar, played by Amjad Khan.
Keeping in tune with the title, the makers have worked on Kumar's on-screen personality -- be it the thick salt and pepper beard or his dressing style -- and have left no stone unturned to make the "Baby" actor look similar to the real "Sholay" villain.
Besides the high-voltage action sequences, the trailer also has many dialogues from classic film "Sholay".
"Gabbar Is Back", is the remake of Telugu film "Ramanaa" (2002), and stars Shruti Haasan in female lead role. Prakash Raj, Sonu Sood and Sunil Grover appear in important roles. The film also has Kareena Kapoor Khan and Chitrangada Singh in special appearances.
It now remains to be seen, if the Kumar starrer lives up to the expectation of the viewers, who are eagerly waiting for the new Gabbar in town.
Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, "Gabbar is Back" is slated to release worldwide on 1 May 2015.
