The advance booking of Akshay Kumar's "Gabbar Is Back", which commenced on Tuesday, has received tremendous response.
"Gabbar Advance Booking" started trending on Twitter on Tuesday after the pre-booking counter opened in India.
The advance booking of the film, especially at single screens, commenced at several online ticket booking portals, but the response it received within 24 hours was not-so-great.
Considering it is Akshay's film, the advance booking was expected to start on a good note. The afternoon and evening shows pre-booking occupancy are filling up fast at several theatres, but the morning shows status is still very low.
Nevertheless, the occupancy is expected to increase before its release. The film is a typical massy commercial drama and will hit screens on a public holiday, i.e. on 1 May.
Also, the multiplexes across the country are yet to start the sale of the tickets.
Meanwhile, Akshay's fans are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film on social media. On Tuesday, Akshay's fans started "GABBAR Advance Booking Open" trend on Twitter and also tweeted online ticket booking portals links.
"Gabbar Is Back" is helmed by debutant director Krish and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. The film also features Shruti Haasan in female lead role, while Suman Talwar and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles.
"Gababr Is Back" is a masala entertainer starring Akshay in lead role. The film is expected to have a good start at the box office on day one.
