Fukrey Returns has certainly managed to tickle the funny bones of the audience and is inching towards Rs 50-crore mark at the box office. The movie, which opened to a great response at the theatres, has now collected Rs 42.35 crore in just five days of its release.
Fukrey Returns did receive mixed reviews from the critics, however, it didn't impact the minds of the viewers who previously appreciated the first part. The movie gained maximum footfalls on the opening day and minted Rs 8.10 crore on Friday (December 8). The collections further escalated on Saturday (December 9) and Sunday (December 10) and earned Rs 11.30 crore and Rs 12.80 crore respectively.
Fukrey Returns passed the crucial Monday test as well and minted Rs 5.10 crore and also had a strong run on Tuesday by earning Rs 5.05 crore on the fifth day. The movie is now expected to cross Rs 50-crore mark in the first week of its release.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the day-wise break-up of Fukrey box office collections on Twitter.

With no big release around, Fukrey Returns will surely rake in moolah in the days to come. It has already surpassed the lifetime box office collections of its first part in just three days of its release. Fukrey (2013) earned Rs 30.20 crore during its entire run at the box office.
Fukrey Returns, which is co-produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under the banner of Excel Entertainment and directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, stars Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat, Manjyot Singh, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi and Richa Chadha in lead roles.
