Fukrey Returns, which had an unexpected start at the box office on Friday, had an extremely brilliant weekend at the commercial circuits. The film completed its first weekend with quite impressive figures.
After surprising all by earning Rs 8.10 crore nett on its opening day at the Indian box office, Fukrey Returns completely dominated the ticket windows. The film's business witnessed immense growth over the weekend.
Starring Pulkit Samrat, Ali Fazal, Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh, the comedy collected Rs 11.30 crore nett at the domestic market on Saturday. This growth was beyond the expectations.
The film performed even better on Sunday. Fukrey Returns collected Rs 12.80 crore nett at the Indian box office on Day 3, taking its first-weekend collection to Rs 32.20 crore.

This is extremely overwhelming, considering the budget of the film. Fukrey Returns has entered the league of Bollywood sequels that became big hits. Although the film did not receive positive reviews from critics, the audience certainly gave it a thumbs-up.
"All calculations, estimates and evaluations go for a toss... #FukreyReturns occupancy on Sun is HIGHER than Fri and Sat... Janta janardhan verdict is the ultimate verdict... #FukreyReturns is a LOTTERY for its investors, [sic]" trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
While Fukrey was a much-loved film, it did not make a big impact at the box office. However, the sequel has turned out to be a big hit.
One factor that apparently has worked in favour of Fukrey Returns is the delay in release of Padmavati, which was supposed to hit the screens just one week earlier. If Padmavati had released on the scheduled date, the situation would certainly have been different.
Current trend suggests Fukrey Returns will go a long way in the coming days as there are no big-ticket releases before Tiger Zinda Hai.
