If you are a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 user residing in the U.K. you now have lots to cheer about as a fresh set of replacement Galaxy Note 7 handsets, which you can avail as replacement for your current devices, has arrived in the country. The exchange program begins on Sept.19.
Samsung started the initiative -- applicable to residents of the U.K. and Ireland -- after the global recall of Galaxy Note 7 smartphones as they are said to have exploded and caught fire.
Samsung states that the new/replacement Samsung Galaxy Note 7 units have been built to incorporate safer batteries this time around, keeping in mind the safety of the users.
After the replacement program, a new set of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 units will be offered in public sales across the country. This means that the availability of the new Galaxy Note 7 handsets in physical retail stores in the U.K. would be during the last week of September. Prior to the global recall, Samsung was slated to offer the flagship smartphone in brick-and-mortar stores in the U.K. Sept. 2 onwards.
This meant that a limited number of customers who had pre-ordered the device online have already received the Galaxy Note 7. If you are among them, you will be contacted by Samsung and offered a new Galaxy Note 7 smartphone in exchange of your current handset.
Meanwhile Apple's iPhone 7 will be launched on Sept. 7 in the U.S. and the U.K. and the availability of the smartphone is expected to coincide with that of the new Galaxy Note 7 retail release date.
