Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer "Freaky Ali," which is moving at a solid pace at the box office, witnessed a drop in its collection on Monday, but it has managed to collect a decent amount at the domestic box office by the end of four days.
As per early estimates, "Freaky Ali" collected Rs.1.5 crore approximately at the Indian box office on Monday. The day-wise breakup of "Freaky Ali" at the domestic box office collection is: Rs. 2.55 crore (Friday), Rs.2.85 crore (Saturday) and Rs.3.10 crore (Sunday). The four day domestic box office collection now stands at approximately Rs.10 crore net.
The Sohail Khan directorial was expected to see a good start, considering it boasts a stellar cast, but the film failed to do so. Despite the festive occasions -- Onam and Eid al-Adha holidays – the Nawazuddin and Amy Jackson starrer has failed to draw the audience to the theatres.
The film's clash with Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif starrer "Baar Baar Dekho" has also affected the film's business. Nevertheless, the poor reviews of "Baar Baar Dekho" by critics and audience, may force others to give "Freaky Ali" a try, instead of the Sidharth-Katrina starrer.
"Freaky Ali" is a rags-to-riches story and revolves around Nawazuddin's character. Since Nawazuddin and Amy Jackson's film received mixed reviews from the audience and critics alike, it has to heavily depend on word-of-mouth publicity.
