"The Fosters" season 3 will premiere with "Wreckage" on 8 June and reveal one of the biggest cliffhangers from the last TV season. Season 2 of the ABC series had ended with a possibly fatal car accident involving Mariana, Jesus and their biological mother Ana, who was pregnant.
Since Jake T. Austin has officially announced that he will be leaving the series, many are speculating that Jesus, his character in "The Fosters", might not have survived the accident. While the Fosters try to cope with the fallout of the accident, Jesus' adopted mother Stef (Teri Polo), who is also a police officer, sets out to find the driver responsible for the accident.
Here is the official synopsis for season 3 episode 1 titled "Wreckage":
"A few weeks after the terrible car accident involving Mariana (Cierra Ramirez), Jesus and their pregnant biological mother, Ana (Alexandra Barreto). As the family deals with the aftermath of the situation, Stef is determined to find the driver responsible for the crash. Callie (Maia Mitchell) continues to volunteer at the drop-in centre where she meets AJ (Tom Williamson), a foster teen runaway searching for his older brother. Brandon (David Lambert) starts at the Idyllwild Music Program and quickly realises that he will be faced with serious competition. Meanwhile, Jude (Hayden Byerly) tells Connor (Gavin MacIntosh) he prefers to keep their relationship private at school."
