Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton returned to his winning ways as he managed to comfortably beat his teammate Nico Rosberg and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel to emerge triumphant in the Chinese Grand Prix.
Following Vettel's win in Malaysia, Ferrari were again expected to challenge Mercedes in Shanghai, but Hamilton managed to keep the Maranello-based outfit at arm length to easily win the race with a time of 1:39:42.008.
Rosberg managed to finish +0.714s behind his teammate to claim the second place, while Vettel finished third +2.988s behind Hamilton.
Vettel's teammate Kimi Räikkönen, who put the German under pressure in the closing stages of the race, finished in fourth, while Williams duo Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas finished in fifth and sixth places, respectively.
Lotus driver Romain Grosjean finished in the seventh place, while Sauber's Felipe Nasr and Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo claimed the eighth and ninth places, respectively.
Sauber's Marcus Ericsson claimed the last point position by finishing in tenth place.
Although Mercedes managed to re-establish their dominance over Ferrari in China, Rosberg was not very happy with his teammate as he accused Hamilton of slowing him down.
"Your pace was compromising my race," said Rosberg after the race, according to Formula 1's official website. "Driving slower than was maybe necessary meant Vettel was very close to me, and that opened up the opportunity for him to do the early stop and meant I had to cover him."
"That cost me race time, and as a result my tyres died [at the end of the race] as my stint was much longer. I'm unhappy about that today."
Hamilton responded to the criticism by saying that the German was "never close" to him for his race to get impacted.
"I'm not really quite sure how I compromised his race, he was 4.4 or 4.5 seconds behind, so he was never close. Therefore I was having no impact on his race whatsoever."
"If he wanted to get closer and he was right up my tail and I was going the pace I was going then perhaps they could say something. But he wasn't, I was on my own so if they wanted to pit him early or before me they could have done that as I had life in my tyres to keep going."
Meanwhile, Vettel, who says that he is happy with the overall outcome of the race, admitted that Mercedes were a "bit too quick" on the harder tyres.
"I think it was a good race all-in-all," Vettel said. "We were closer on the softer compound of tyres and we able to put some pressure on them. We tried to put some extra pressure on them by stopping fairly early for the last set of tyres but I think on the harder tyres they were just that bit too quick, so they were able to pull away."
This result means that Hamilton now has 68 points and Vettel and Rosberg has 55 and 51 points, respectively.
Mercedes, on the other hand, lead the constructor championships with 119 points followed by Ferrari and Williams, who have 79 and 48 points, respectively.
