Bollywood actress and former Miss World Yukta Mookhey has filed a police compliant against her husband Prince Tuli and in-laws on Thursday night for physically assaulting her.
The beauty queen has filed a case at the Amboli police station in Jogeshwari, Mumbai.
Mookhey in her compliant has alleged that her in-laws harassed her for dowry. She also claimed that Tulli mentally and physically abused her and also had unnatural sex.
"In her complaint, Ms Mookhey alleged she had often been beaten up and troubled by her husband Prince Tuli. An FIR has been registered under Section 498A (cruelty and harassment) and Section 377 (unnatural sex) of Indian Penal Code after her complaint yesterday," an officer at Amboli police station told PTI.
The actress got married to Tulli in 2008 and moved to Nagpur with him. But last year she returned to Mumbai along with her three-year-old son. She was staying with her parents in Andheri.
In 2012, she submitted a written application alleging harassment following which the police had carried out an inquiry but no FIR was registered. She claimed that she was often beaten up and troubled by her husband Prince Tuli.
"In her complaint, Mookhey alleged that she had often been beaten and troubled by her husband Prince Tuli. A non-cognisable offence has been registered after her complaint," PTI quoted Amboli police station's senior inspector as saying.
The 36-year-old was crowned Miss World in December 1999 at the age of 22. After winning the crown she started her acting career in Bollywood. She has worked in six Bollywood films.
