Ford India unveiled its iconic muscle car Mustang at an event in January and confirmed its launch in the country in 2016 itself. The launch of the Pony car is expected during the festive season, and ahead of it, three units of the Mustang were spotted at the car-maker's Gujarat manufacturing facility.

The new generation features a new independent rear suspension (IRS) system in the Mustang.
The India-spec version has been confirmed with the flagship 5.0-litre Ti-VCT V8 engine that generates 420bhp and 515Nm of torque, mated to mated to six-speed automatic transmission. Estimated prices for the Mustang hover around Rs. 50 lakh.
Unlike the other vehicles in Ford's stable, the Mustang is an iconic model: It is the only model in Ford's line-up that does not use the company logo. The car features a dedicated logo of a horse that denotes compact, quick, agile and sleek, according to the company. The Mustang belongs to the pony car class of the American automobile brand, with sports car like coupes with long hoods and short rear decks.
