Original Story
Ford is set to finally launch its highly anticipated muscle car Mustang, which is currently in its sixth generation, in India on Thursday, 28 January.
To be brought to India as CBU (Completely Built Unit), the new Mustang is the first version that comes with factory designed right-hand-drive export model to be sold in the overseas market. It sports car-like coupes with long hoods and short rear decks, and flaunts dedicated logo of a horse that denotes compact, quick, agile and sleek.
At the heart of the Mustang is likely to be the acclaimed 5.0-litre V8 engine that can comfortably dish out 435bhp of power along with 524Nm of peak torque and comes paired to a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The iconic car, which is set to open its Indian chapter, is likely to be offered in the GT variant in the country. Earlier, the Mustang GT Premium Fastback was spotted at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune, for government approvals.
The Mustang is expected to boast automatic HID headlamps, LED fog lamps, LED tail lamps and rear diffuser as standard fittings. Other features expected include dual-zone climate control, a multi-function steering wheel and two air bags in the front along with curtain and knee bags for added protection.
In India, the Ford Mustang is expected to be priced at around Rs 50 lakh.
