Ford India sales in September saw a marginal increase to 22,590 units as against 22,428 units last year during the same period.
In September, the domestic sales of the Indian-arm of the US car-maker registered a growth of 9 percent to 9,018 units as against 8,274 units in the same period a year ago. However, during the same period, the export of Ford witnessed a fall of 4.11 percent to 13,572 units compared to 14,154 units in September last year.
"Good monsoons, the Seventh Pay Commission and reasonable inflation are helping drive the Indian automotive industry," said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director, Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford India.
Meanwhile, upping the ante in the Indian market, US auto-major revised the prices of its SUV, Endeavour. With the latest revision, Endeavour has received a price cut of up to Rs 2.82 lakh. While there is no change in the prices of the 2.2L 4X2 MT Trend, 3.2L 4X4 AT Titanium and the 2.2L 4X2 AT Titanium, the price of the other three variants have been slashed. The 2.2L 4X2 AT Trend is now priced at Rs 23.78 lakh after a price cut of Rs 1.72 lakh from the previous Rs 25.5 lakh. While the 2.2L 4X4 MT Trend variant saw a drop of Rs 2.82 lakh in the cost, the 3.2L 4X4 AT Trend price has come down to Rs 25.93 lakh from the previous Rs 27.65 lakh.
