American carmaker Ford has unveiled a jacked up version of the Figo hatchback at the ongoing Sao Paulo Auto Show. The Figo is called as Ka in the Brazilian market and the new variant that stresses on the sportiness and customisation potential of the hatchback has been named as Ka Trail.
The Ka Trail comes with a body kit that includes 15-inch alloy wheels in dark shade, ORVM cover and door handles in London Grey shade, and a black coloured fog lamp bezel. The car also features plastic cladding in wheel arches and faux skid plate at front. Special stickers on the sides and back with graphics in gray and orange completes external additions in the Ka Trail. On the interior, the Ka Trail flaunts partial leather seats with contrasting stitching in orange and green, sports pedal and sill with the Trail logo.
Unlike the other cross versions of the popular hatchback that comes with only external add-ons, the Ka Trail gets a raised suspension that will accentuate its size and increases the ability to overcome obstacles.
"The Ka Trail is a young adventurer profile car with accessories specially developed by our team of design to highlight its sportiness and robustness,"said Fernando Pfeiffer, Product Manager for Ford. "It gives a special spice to a car that already has many qualities to enhance its design and innovative spirit," he added.
It was rumoured that Ford India is working on Figo Cross that will take on the Fiat Avventura, Hyundai i20 Active and Toyota Etios Cross. In all probability, the Ka Trail will be launched in India as Figo Cross. The arrival of crossover version of the Figo in India can be expected in early 2017.
