It appears like all is well with the new Ford Figo Aspire sedan in India. The Figo Aspire sedan which made its India debut in August this year has successfully crossed sales figure of 15,000 units in India.
The compact sedan from the US auto Major Ford, the contender of Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest in the domestic market, has managed to sell 15,000 units, reports The Hindu Business Lines. Ford India sold 10,008 units in October 2015, of which about 30% came from the Figo Aspire. Manufactured at the company's new facility in Sanand, Gujarat, Figo Aspire has clocked average sales of 5,000 per month.
Priced at Rs 4.89 lakh, Ford Figo Aspire is offered in a total of eight variants -- five petrol and three diesel. Under the hood, Figo Aspire packs three engine options: 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol, 1.5-litre TDCI and 1.5-litre Ti-VCT motor and the transmission is taken care of by either a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The base model of Figo Aspire is powered by 1.2-litre Ti-VCT engine, which can churn out 88PS @6300rpm and 112Nm @4000rpm of peak torque and come mated to a five-speed manual transmission, whereas the 1.5-litre TDCi that has a capacity to produce 100PS of power and 215Nm of torque will come with 5-speed manual gearbox.
The third engine in the line-up, the 1.5-litre Ti-VCT, is tuned to produce 112PS @6,300rpm and 136Nm @4250rpm of torque with 6-Speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.
