It's official that Ford's next compact sedan offering in India is called Figo Aspire. The model which is tipped to make its India debut in the coming days has been revealed in new images.
Ford Figo Aspire, a model which was first seen at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, has already hit the assembly line at the company's new plant in Sanand, Gujarat, and will be pitched against Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest and Hyundai Xcent in the highly competitive compact sedan segment.
From a visual standpoint, the upcoming Figo Aspire shares a lot of similarities with the concept that we saw first at the auto Expo. The model looks stylish with its new front grille, headlamp and tail lamp design; and the model is expected to have premium features and technologies onboard as well.
Under the hood, Figo Aspire 1.5-litre TDCi diesel and 1.2-litre TiVCT petrol is expected to get both manual and automatic transmission. The model will also be getting SYNC AppLink.
The made-in-India Ford Figo Aspire is also likely to find its place in the international markets as the company is planning to export the model. The other speculated features include steering mounted audio control, electrically adjustable ORVMs and airbags, and ABS.
Ford will also be rolling out its new Figo hatchback from its Sanand plant. It will be launched later in the year. Figo hatchback will rival Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and Tata Bolt in the domestic market.
