If latest reports are to be believed, Figo Aspire, the hotly anticipated compact sedan from the house of Ford, is set to make its India entry in August.
It was earlier reported that Figo Aspire, which is currently touring 25 cities in India as part of its road show, would make its India debut in July. Now a latest report of ET Auto, citing sources close to the development, reveals that the Figo Aspire will come to the market in August. Further, the report also adds that some dealers of Ford have started accepting bookings for upcoming Figo Aspire with an advance payment of ₹1 lakh. Figo Aspire is expected to get a price tag in the range of in the range of ₹5.2 lakh – ₹7 lakh.
Based on Ford Figo sedan concept, the new Figo Aspire will be produced at the company's new plant in Sanand, Gujarat. Under the hood, Figo Aspire will get 1.5-litre TDCi diesel and 1.2-litre TiVCT petrol with manual and automatic transmission. There have also been rumours about a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which would come mated to 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.
As for features, the model is speculated to get steering mounted audio control, electrically adjustable ORVMs and airbags, and ABS. The top-end variant will come with SYNC AppLink. Once it hits the market, Ford Figo Aspire will be pitted against Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest and Hyundai Xcent.
