The new compact sedan from Ford, the Figo Aspire, has received a dream start by reaching the second spot in the compact sedan segment in August car sales, beating Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze, Toyota Etios and Tata Zest. It now lags behind the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
A report published by ET Auto says Ford sold 5,176 units of Figo Aspire, while sales of Hyundai Xcent stood at 3,202 units. Honda sold 3,260 units of its Amaze compact sedan while Toyota sold 2,652 units of the Etios sedan. Tata Zest managed to sale only 2,006 units during August 2015.
The Figo Aspire contributed to the company's total sales of 8,331 units. The car single-handedly helped Ford India to turn around the sales for the month of August.
