Ford India's best-seller EcoSport SUV has now also become the most exported car from India in financial year 2015-2016. Ford India exported 83,325 units of the SUV, which ranked the fourth most exported model in the last fiscal, registering a 51 percent growth. Nissan's Micra hatchback, which was the most exported car from India in FY2015, slipped to the second place with 75,456 units of exports. Nissan also registered one percent decline in the exports of the Micra.
Volkswagen's Vento sedan is the third most exported car from India, according to the data revealed by the Society of Indian Automobiles Manufacturers (SIAM), as reported by ET Auto. The German carmaker exported 63,157 units of the Vento with 13 percent growth in export. Maruti Suzuki's Alto secured the fourth place in the list with 54,656 units exported, with an increase of 73 percent.
Hyundai India's best seller Grand i10 came at the fifth place with 44,672 unit exported. This was followed by Chevrolet Beat. General Motors India exported 37,082 units of the Beat in FY2016.
Nissan's Sunny sedan remained the seventh most exported car from India. The Japanese carmaker exported 31,027 unit of the sedan from India.
Hyundai India secured the last three spots in the top 10 most exported car from India. The Korean carmaker exported 29,540 units of the Xcent from its Chennai facility in FY2016 and it emerged as the eighth most exported car from the country. The i10 hatchback was the ninth most exported car with 21, 133 units, followed by Creta SUV, which saw 19,442 units of the SUV shipped to foreign markets in FY2016.
