The much awaited EcoSport SUV from American auto major Ford is expected to hit Indian roads on Wednesday.
The EcoSport which is expected to set a style standard for all compact SUV will come in four trims - Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Optional. After the SUV's soft launch in 12 Indian cities as part of its EcoSport Urban Discoveries campaign roadshow, Ford had begun accepting pre-bookings earlier this month. Recently, the company has stared rolling out demo cars for its dealerships across the country, giving rise to speculation that the vehicle will hit the showrooms this week.
Ford dealers have begun accepting bookings for EcoSport with an advance of ₹50,000.
EcoSport Features
The top-end variants of EcoSport are powered by 1.5-litre petrol engine and comes in six-speed automatic transmission, while the Ambiente and Trend trims will have the five-speed manual transmission (MT). The base model of the EcoSport Ambient lacks safety features like ABS and airbags, but has manual air-conditioning, manual rear windows and Bluetooth audio system.
The Trend variant also comes with ABS and EBD but lacks airbags. The other features of this variant include steering mounted audio controls, height adjustable drive seat and front and rear power windows. The Titanium variant has power windows, steering mounted controls, automatic air conditioning system, Microsoft SYNC, 16″ alloys, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors and chrome exteriors.
The EcoSport SUV will be launched in seven colour variants and its interiors come in two colour options - charcoal black + warm neutral gray (offered on all variants except on Titanium (O)) and charcoal black + dark shadow gray (exclusive for the top end Titanium (O) model).
Pricing
EcoSport is likely to be priced between ₹5.9 and ₹6 lakh and the high-end variants will cost around ₹9 lakh. The vehcile will be pitted against Renault Duster, Mahindra Quanto and Premier Rio.
