Ford India launched the Black edition of the EcoSport SUV for a starting price of RS. 8.58 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi. The EcoSport Black Edition will be available in three variants — Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+ — with all three powertains currently sold with the compact SUV.
As the name suggest, the Black Edition features many external parts draped in black colour. The all-black exterior includes a black grille, black-out moulded headlamps, 16-inch black alloy wheels, black mirror covers, black fog lamp bezel, black roof rails and roof cross bars. It is pure cosmetic upgrade and the powertrains are untouched.
The 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine of the EcoSport develops 123bhp and 170Nm of torque mated to five-speed manual transmission. The 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine develops 109bhp and 140Nm of torque mated to either manual or automatic transmission. The 1.5-TDCi diesel engine develops 99bhp power and 205Nm torque mated to five-speed manual transmission.
"Besides an outstanding value for money proposition, the Ford EcoSport continues to be admired for its impressive, head-turning design. The new Black Edition accentuates EcoSport's bold design, giving the compact SUV an even more striking look and a substantial road presence," said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director of Marketing, Sales & Service at Ford India, in a statement.
