American auto Major Ford's much acclaimed SUV EcoSport has been crowned as the most awarded car in India.
Ford EcoSport, an SUV with stylish design and best price has been a huge success in India since its inception. The car which received overwhelming response from the auto lovers across the globe has turned out to be a fortune changer of the company. In India, Ford's striking offering has bagged as many as 30 awards as of now.
Launched back in June, the EcoSport comes with 1.5L petrol, 1.5L diesel and the 1.0L EcoBoost engine under the hood. The 1.5L petrol engine gives 112 PS power and 140 Nm torque. The revolutionary EcoBoost EcoSport engine churns out a power of 125 PS and 170 Nm torque, along with a mileage of 18.9 kmpl. The diesel variant of EcoSport is the most fuel efficient among all models, delivering a mileage of 22.7 kmpl. The vehicle received more than 30,000 bookings within the first 17 days of its launch in India on 26 June.
Earlier in February, Ford has cut the prices of EcoSport in India, following the excise reduction announced by Finance Minister P Chidambaram in his latest interim budget. However, emerging reports suggest that the company is mulling over a price hike for its vehicles in India from April again due to the increasing input costs and falling rupees.
