Sonu Nigam's issue with forced religiousness continues after the singer decided to post a clip of azaan, the Islamic prayer. The renowened singer posted a 2.20-minute clip on Twitter.
He tweeted a video with a caption 'Good morning'. Although he did not complain this time, the clip and the timing of the post explains how much he is irritated by azaan. Recently, Sonu landed in a controversy when he tweeted, "God bless everyone. I'm not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India."
"And by the way Mohammed did not have electricity when he made Islam. Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison," he added. "I don't believe in any temple or gurudwara using electricity to wake up people who don't follow the religion. Why then? Honest? True?" he tweeted.
Following his tweets, a case was filed against him under sections 294, 295, 295A, 296, 500, 501 of IPC. A cleric had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anyone who would shave Sonu's hair off, put a garland of shoes around his neck, and make him parade. In response to the fatwa, the singer got his head shaved off and demanded him pay the reward to the barber.

However, the cleric responded later that Sonu Nigam did not fulfil his other two promises and he would pay the reward only after his two other conditions were met.
