Force 2, starring John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha, which was released on Friday, November 18, has received mixed reviews from critics.
Directed by Abhinay Deo, Force 2 has been making huge buzz since it is the sequel to Force, the hit film of 2011 starring John and Genelia D'Souza. The trailer of Force 2 also created waves among the audience. John has taken his daredevil stunts a notch higher in Force 2.
The action thriller revolves around a man with evil motives named Shiv (played by Tahir Raj Bhasin) who kills agents of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), thereby putting India under major threat. He intends to ruin the country and challenges ACP Yashwardhan (John) and RAW agent KK (Sonakshi). This is for the first time that John and Sonakshi have shared screen space.
The story and the performance by the assembled cast don't fail to impress viewers. While John has delivered a brilliant performance as a rough and intense cop, Sonakshi has stunned the audience with her daredevil stunts.

Nihit Bhave of the Times of India said: "It's a decent time at the cinema for the thrill-seekers; the action won't disappoint. Go ahead and may the force be with you! The thing that works in Force 2's favour is pacing. In spite of a familiar story, the action sequences are timed perfectly and executed stylishly; there are no songs except for a recreation of Kaante Nahi Kat-te, which moves the story along. Most of the climax sequence is shot like a first-person shooter game which is a refreshing experiment."
Tushar Joshi of DNA said: "Force 2 is a great watch mainly because it stays true to its genre and provides ample adrenaline rush. John Abraham is in top form and the film has some of the best action sequences shot this year. Force 2 has loads of bang worth your buck."
Shaheen Parkar of Mid Day said: "'Force 2' is high on style, low on substance. John is a cop, a master at piecing together shreds of evidence. Yet his efforts aren't enough to blend the bunch of action sequences which have been haphazardly woven into a loose plot, in a bid to thrill. In his trademark cargoes, tee and black boots, John can sleepwalk through the role. He's done it several times before and, in selected frames, he looks to have sauntered in from his earlier film, 'Dishoom'. But then this is what he does best."
Rohit Vats of Hindustan Times said: "Force 2 has a noble heart. It wants to get the undercover agents, who selflessly serve the nation, their due. But the narrative hasn't taken a favourable shape. Sadly, it's mostly about muscles and very less about intelligence."
Namrata Joshi of The Hindu said: "Abraham reprises the dour ACP Yashvardhan with a suitable singularity of expression. I only hope it doesn't get mistaken for intensity. Meanwhile, Sinha looks completely clueless, as though she walked into a wrong film set. It's left entirely up to Bhasin then to hold our interest with his blabbering, psychological games and mouth organ."
