John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Force 2 has completed 7 days at the box office with a decent first-week collection. Despite the issues due to demonetisation, the action thriller performed well at the domestic market.
Force 2 had collected over Rs 20 crore nett by the end of its first weekend at the Indian box office. The film had earned Rs 6.05 crore on its opening day that was decent considering the ongoing crunch of cash faced by commoners due to ban on 500 and 1000 rupee notes.
Directed by Abhinay Deo, Force 2 had continued the good run at the box office in the weekend with a collection of Rs 6.50 crore on Saturday and Rs 7.50 crore on Sunday.
The film kept the momentum up over the weekdays and made a collection of Rs 27.50 crore nett (approximately) by the end of Wednesday. Now, early estimates suggest that Force 2 collected around Rs 2.50 crore (approximately) on Thursday, taking its 7-day total nett business to Rs 30 crore (approximately) at the domestic market. Exact figures are yet to be out.
The movie Force 2 had received mixed reviews from the critics but has been enjoying strong word of mouth. With no major release alongside except Tum Bin 2 that failed to put much impact at the box office, the film dominated the commercial circuits. However, demonetisation apparently has hit the business of Force 2 to some extent.
Nonetheless, Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt starrer Dear Zindagi is slated to be released on November 25 that is likely to affect the collection of Force 2 badly.
