John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Force 2 has had a decent opening at the box office with a collection of Rs 6.05 crore nett at the domestic market on Friday. The action thriller continued to perform well at the Indian box office over the first weekend.
Directed by Abhinay Deo, Force 2 had witnessed little growth in its collection on Saturday and the Sunday earning turned out to be even better. Having released in around 1,800 screens, the issue of demonetisation did not apparently affect the movie much, at least over the first weekend.
After having collected Rs 6.50 crore on its second day, the day-3 collection of Force 2 witnessed a hike at the Indian box office. Force 2 collected Rs 7.50 crore on Sunday, taking its 3-day collection to Rs over Rs 20 crore nett.
"#Force2 saw positive trending over weekend...Weekdays are crucial...Fri 6.05 cr, Sat 6.50 cr, Sun 7.50 cr. Total: 20.05 cr. India biz," tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
Although Force 2 had a box office clash with romantic drama Tum Bin 2, the latter could not put much impact and the John-starrer continued its decent run over the weekend. Sequel of the 2011 action movie Force, Force 2 had mixed reviews from the critics but has been enjoying positive word of mouth. Fans have been applauding the film's action sequences along with the stunning visuals.
Of late, it has been seen that many movies had picked up well at the box office owing to strong word of mouth and Force 2 may also keep the decent business running in the coming days. With no competition from any other film, Force 2 is likely to keep the momentum up at the box office. However, Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt-starrer Dear Zindagi is slated to be released next week and that might affect the collection of Force 2 to great extent.
