Tiger Shroff's "A Flying Jatt," which opened on a slow note, witnessed some growth in its collection in the following days. The film collected a decent figure at the Indian box office at the end of its first weekend.
"A Flying Jatt" collected Rs. 29.45 crore at the domestic market after three days of run. The day-wise break-up of "A Flying Jatt" is: Thursday (Rs. 7.10 crore), Friday (Rs.6 crore), Saturday (Rs.7.35 crore) and Sunday (Rs. 9 crore).
After seeing its early trends, most trade analysts had predicted that the film would surpass the first-day collection of Tiger's previous film, "Baaghi." However, the Tiger, Jacqueline Fernandez-starrer failed to cross the collection of "Baaghi" by a big margin. "Baaghi" had raked in Rs. 38.58 crore after the first three days of its run.
"A Flying Jatt" was expected to open to packed houses since it was released on the day of the Janmashtami festival. However, despite the holiday, it failed to draw the audience to theatres. However, on Saturday, it witnessed some slow growth in its collection. Though the film was released in 2,500-2,600 screens, which was more than the screen count of Akshay Kumar's "Rustom" (2,317), it didn't collect a good sum.
Also, the Remo D'Souza-directed film was expected to shatter a few opening day box office records, but it failed to make it to the list of top 10 Bollywood openers of the year. Nevertheless, "A Flying Jatt" has managed to grab the 10th position in the list of the highest grossing films in the opening weekend of 2016.
