Just over two months remain for the fight of the century between Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao, which has been tentatively scheduled for 2 May at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, but the deal is yet to be made official.
One wonders if the deal is ever going to take shape. It is a fight, which the whole world wants to see, including former boxers as well as media persons and critics. If it does finally takes place, it is expected to break all box office records in boxing history.
A few days ago the Filipino was in the US, but he is said to have resumed his training for the mega fight.
Pacquiao even posted a photo along with his son on Instagram a few days ago, where the post read, "More than anything that is very important is when you serve the Lord and spend time with the family before the serious training for the upcoming fight. Fight who?????? Hehehe im excited for this!"
This post excited the entire world that the fight was understood to be a matter of time, though, his opponent was not revealed then as well, which confused boxing fans around the world.
But, to make things clear, Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach in an interview with Seconds Out passed enough hints about his opponent.
"I've done a little bit of research on Floyd and a little bit of research on sparring partners," Roach said in the video.
"The Floyd that I watched five years ago is a little different than Floyd today, so I've been watching [more recent] fights."
Roach still considers Mayweather a very good fighter as he stated that the American does not make much mistakes, and only has a couple of flaws.
"It is a very tactical fight. I have to come up with a perfect game plan for this one. This is going to be the biggest challenge ever. I like challenges and I can pull it off. It won't be easy," he said.
Even Roach is not aware as to what exactly is holding the fight back, despite both the boxers more than eager for the big fight on 2 May.
"I don't know (about why the deal has not been passed). I wish I was more in the inside, but I don't have that privilege, I am just a trainer," said Roach in the video.
