Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather reportedly witnessed the apparent murder-suicide of VH1 "Hit the Floor" star Stephanie Moseley and her rapper husband Earl Hayes.
Hayes was a close friend of Mayweather and was also a member of his Money team. According to TMZ, a source close to Mayweather said that Hayes had called Mayweather on FaceTime just before the tragic incident Monday morning. The rapper had been accusing his wife of being unfaithful and had called Mayweather to talk about the matter. Hayes was reportedly in a rage and had also pulled out a gun. He said that he would kill his wife.
The source said that the WBC and WBA welterweight world champion was pleading with Hayes to not do something drastic, police confirmed. It is not known as yet as to how much the boxer saw, but the source said that Mayweather acknowledges that he was a witness and has heard everything that went on behind the locked door that morning.
Mayweather is in shock and is facing a very difficult time coping with the fact that he witnessed the horrifying murder-suicide of one of his closest friends.
According to a Los Angeles police department official, Wilshire Division patrol officers were informed of a shooting 8 December around 7.30 am in the 300 block of Hauser Avenue. When officers reached the venue, they heard additional shots. LAPD's SWAT team knocked down the door to find the couple lying dead with gunshot wounds.
"The initial investigation revealed that 34-year-old Earl Warren Hayes shot his wife, 30-year-old Stephanie Elyse Moseley to death and then took his own life," the official said, The Independent reports.
Moseley, 30, was a dancer-cum-actress and was famous for her stint in VH!'s cheerleader drama 'Hit The Floor'. As a backup dancer, she had worked with Chris Brown, Britney Spears and others.
VH1 said that she was supposed to return for the Season 3 of the series that was renewed in July.
