A Florida man has been charged with the murder of his mother on New Year's Eve by a local court. The 23-year-old man, Christian Jose Gomez, allegedly beheaded his 48-year-old mother, Maria Suarez-Cassagne.
According to the details released by the Pinellas County Sherriff's office, Mario Gomez, the victim's other son, called 911 to report that his mother was beheaded by his brother. Deputies that responded to the call on Wednesday night located Maria's body outside the residence near the garbage cans. Her head was discovered form another can.
Mario advised the officers that Christian may still be in the locality, although he had fled the residence. A perimeter marking the search area was set up by the deputies, and another 911 phone call with information on a suspicious person riding a bicycle in the area was soon reported.
The said cyclist was asked to stop by the police at 7.57 pm near 1802, Driftwood Circle, a few blocks away from his residence. The man did not comply and following a brief foot chase, he was caught and identified as the suspect.
Christian admitted to beheading his mother during interrogation by the deputies and has been charged with first degree murder. The axe ,used by Christian to behead his mother, has also been recovered.
Authorities revealed that he was angry that his mother kept "nagging him" to do the chores and that is what made him murder her.
Christian is currently stationed at Pinellas County Jail in the state.
