Indian e-commerce website Flipkart has hinted to release Moto Droid Turbo, the flagship smartphone of Motorola in India. Through an official tweet, Flipkart has posted a teaser with Motorola logo. The teaser has been captioned as "Get your life Turbocharged" following the text "Accelerated performance. Ballistic nylon fairing. Reviving in soon."
The Motorola Droid Turbo was launched last October via Verizon wireless carrier in the United States. Later it was rolled out to the global market with the name of Moto Maxx. PhoneArena hints since the device caries the name Moto Droid Turbo in US only; it will most probably be launched in India as Moto Droid Maxx.
The Moto Droid Maxx comes with a ballistic nylon back cover with rugged frame. According to the users the device is chunky, heavy and quite durable. Retaining the identical 5.2-inch display of Moto X, the Moto Maxx features a higher resolution display (2560x1440 at 565ppi). The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protected AMOLED display pairs a large speaker grille on the front. For added protection the device comes with a water resistant certification.
Powered by a 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC with 600 MHz Adreno 420 GPU, the Moto Droid Maxx equips 3GB RAM memory and 64GB internal memory. The Droid Maxx further features 4G LTE / 3G, WiFi 802.11a/g/b/n/ac (dual band), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS, GLONASS and NFC connectivity features.
On the camera front Moto Droid Maxx features a 21mp rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash with much required 4K video recording. The phone also equips a 2mp front camera for video calls and selfies. Runs on Android Kitkat 4.4.4 the Moto Droid Maxx comes packs a monstrous 3900mAh battery on board.
