Flipkart Posts Galaxy S6 Edge Teaser Ahead of India Launch

Popular e-commerce site Flipkart has posted a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge teaser ahead of its official launch in India on Monday (23 March).

Flipkart's graphic poster showcases a dual-edge curved display based Galaxy S6 Edge with the tag- 'Next is Tomorrow,' hinting the company might be Samsung's official partner to sell the flagship smartphones online.

Since Samsung has already announced that it will be holding an event on 23 March in New Delhi to officially launch the recently-unveiled Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in India, it is possible that Samsung will disclose the devices' prices, release date details and even start the pre-order service via Flipkart on Monday.

Even in overseas markets of Europe and North America, Samsung's Galaxy S6 series devices have been put for pre-order. So it wont come as a surprise if Flipkart starts taking orders from consumers for Samsung's flagship smartphones on Monday.

As per our previous report, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will hit India stores in the second week of April. If rumours are to be believed, the former model's price is expected to start from ₹52,999 and the later special edition model's asking price is said to begin from ₹61,999.

But we believe the prices are likely to shoot upwards thanks to the Union Government's 2015 Budget, according to which there was an increase in the custom duty on imported products from 6% to 12.5%.

Soon after the announcement, Samsung rival Apple Inc hiked all the iPhone series smartphone prices in India a few days back.
