Flipkart, exclusive retail partner of Motorola has introduced smartphone exchange campaign offering close to ₹2000 discount on the best selling mid-range handset Moto G in India.
Moto G made its debut in India in February and the reception was so overwhelming that the handset's stock ran out within minutes after it got released through online store. Since then, Flipkart has replenished its inventory twice and now with smartphone exchange program, the e-commerce site is offering consumers - Moto G 8GB model for ₹10,499 and 16GB model for ₹11,999. Prospective buyers can check if their old handset is eligible for exchange or not (here and here).
Moto G sports 4.5-inch HD screen with pixel density of 329 ppi (pixels per inch) and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 shield. It ships with Android v4.4 KitKat OS, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 series quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 5.0-megapixel camera with LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel front camera.
Apart from Moto G, Flipkart is also the selling Motorola flagship smartphone Moto X. The marquee phone though boasting some innovative voice control features did not get any massive response like its smaller sibling; probably its ₹24,000 plus price tag might have played a role on the minds of price-sensitive Indian consumers.
If Flipkart uses similar smartphone exchange strategy on Moto X, the phone might get some traction in the market.
