Samsung's much-awaited Galaxy Note9 is all set to make its global debut on August 9 in New York City. The phone is expected to release in global markets in a phased manner within the following weeks.
Now, India-based Flipkart has opened the dedicated 'Samsung Galaxy Unpacked' page on its e-commerce mobile app (Android and iOS) confirming that it is the exclusive seller of the upcoming device.
Flipkart has also posted numerous Galaxy Note9 video teasers hinting key features. According to the clips, the Samsung Android flagship will have big battery upgrade, larger storage capacity and a faster and efficient processor.
As a part of the promotional launch campaign, Flipkart is also expected to offer several lucrative deals including cash discounts, additional exchange value, fixed buy-back guarantee and more.
Samsung Galaxy Note9: All you need to know
As per recent reports, Samsung has made some minor design and yet useful changes to the Galaxy Note9. It will retain the Infinity Display design as seen in the previous iteration, but the company has trimmed bezels in the top and bottom, to increase screen real estate on the front panel resulting in more than 85% screen-to-body ratio. The device is also believed to come with a 6.4-inch Wide Quad High Definition (WQHD) super AMOLED screen with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and an improved sunlight readability.
On the back, Samsung has shifted the fingerprint sensor below the camera. This makes sense, as it will be easy for finger access and also consumers will be less likely to touch the camera sensors. This was one of the key issues in Galaxy Note8 as it had a biometric sensor right beside the camera lens and many device owners touched it leaving sweaty smudges all over it. Now, this issue is unlikely to recur in the successor.
Depending on the region of sale, Galaxy Note9 will be offered in two chipset variants. Devices, which will be shipped to US, China and South Korea will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor. While Samsung phones headed towards India and Russia among other global markets will house an Exynos 9820 octa-core processor.
Rest assured, both the variants will offer the same level of performance and would set a new benchmark in performance among Android phones.
The S Pen for the first time will be coming with a Bluetooth modem of its own and will be able to control music tracks and volume, among other capabilities, in addition to note-taking features.
Samsung is also said to have enhanced the ISOCELL technology for Galaxy Note9's camera, in addition to enhanced Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and a variable aperture (F1.5-F2.4) to capture high-quality pictures in low-light.
Reports suggest that the Galaxy Note9 base variant will come in 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, which is double that of the Galaxy Note8. Samsung also has plans to bring top-end models with 8 GB RAM + 256 GB and 8 GB RAM + 512 GB configurations in select international markets later this year.
As far as the availability is concerned, Samsung is expected to open up Galaxy Note9 pre-order service in multiple global regions soon after the global unveiling on August 9. In India, the company is expected to launch the event and start taking orders for the Android phablet for around Rs 73,000 from August 19 onwards.
