With the return of "The Flash" to The CW network on 17 March, Tuesday, fans are looking for any little spoilers they can get about the second half of season 1. Grant Gustin, who plays Barry, aka The Flash, may have accidentally slipped some information during the PaleyFest LA panel held on 14 March.
When the moderator of "The Flash" panel, Aisha Tyler, asked Gustin, "How has playing The Flash evolved for you? Has that moment of watching him out of 'Arrow' to where you are now, in terms of character development, how has it changed?" Gustin may have elaborated more than he should have.
He began by answering that it has been a roller-coaster ride and the show sort of mirrors the events that have happened or are happening in his life. "The whole journey, with Barry becoming Flash, and me getting to do this job has been a nice kind of thing, going hand in hand, as this season has progressed."
He goes on to add that Barry has found more confidence as the season has progressed. He is evolved and he is faced off with trying to find out what is going on with Harrison Wells, who the Reverse Flash really is, why he did what he did. At this, Cavanagh, who plays Wells aka Reverse Flash, is seen trying to hide a subtle smile.
Noticing this, and possibly the reaction of other cast members or creators, Gustin immediately says, "I didn't say what I was not supposed to say". Everyone on the panel and in the audience laughs as Cavanagh, shrugs and agrees with him.
Although Gustin did reveal that Dr Wells is also Reverse Flash, in the absolute last bit on season 1 episode 14 "Fallout", the shocking revelation was already made by the fans. Moreover, in the trailer for episode 15 "Out of Time", the image of Dr Wells in his Reverse Flash suit is the selling point.
The second half of season 1 of "The Flash" will not only be exploring more into who Dr Wells or Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh) is, but will also be introducing new super villains like the Weather Wizard (Liam McIntyre) and The Trickster (Mark Hamill/Devon Graye). The show will also bring back some familiar villains like Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), his partner Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Cold's sister Lisa Snart (Peyton List).
