The audience was treated to two new Bollywood movies this Friday, Feb. 12, "Fitoor" and "Sanam Re." While Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur starrer "Fitoor" has received positive response, the viewers are a bit disappointed with Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam's "Sanam Re."
In Abhishek Kapoor's "Fitoor," Tabu has again captured hearts with her brilliant performance. The cinematography of the film has been appreciated more than the performance of the actors. On the other hand, Samrat and Gautam have performed well in "Sanam Re," but the script failed to impress.
"Fitoor," the Indian adaptation of Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations," is about a poor Kashmiri boy Noor (Kapur) who falls in love with a rich girl, Firdaus (Kaif). The highlight of the movie is the cameo appearance of Ajay Devgn, who plays an intense role.
Several celebrities, including Sidharth Malhotra, Karan Johar, Arjun Rampal, Manish Paul and Amit Sadh, have praised the Abhishek Kapoor directorial on social media. However, no celebrities have tweeted anything about Divya Khosla Kumar's "Sanam Re" yet.
"Fitoor" has got mixed response from the critics and thus, according to them, the film is average. The critics have appreciated Tabu's performance and the cinematography of the film. "Sanam Re" has not impressed the critics, but a few have stated that Rishi Kapoor, who plays Samrat's grandfather, has delivered a good performance.
Interestingly, both the films enjoyed good hype due to relationship rumours. "Fitoor" made headlines when Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor's break-up news came to light, while "Sanam Re" grabbed the viewers' attention due to Samrat and Gautam's rumoured affair. In fact, Samrat reportedly confessed that the dating rumour was a publicity stunt.
