Fitbit launched its latest fitness tracking device, Blaze, in India, after showcasing the wearable at this year's CES trade show in January. Fitbit Blaze does everything other fitness trackers do, but offers a stylish design that reflects a premium class for a price of Rs 19,999.
Fitbit Blaze is available exclusively on Amazon India and comes in small and large sizes. The Blaze tracker's bands can be swapped with textured rubber, leather and metal bands and there are black, blue and plum colours to choose from.
In terms of features and capabilities, Fitbit Blaze can track steps, distance, calories burnt and floors climbed. The Blaze fitness smartwatch automatically records workouts, sleep and heart rate without manual interventions. The Blaze sports multi-sport tracking mode, which detects cardio, cross training, biking activities and more. Fitbit Blaze has a personal training app called FitStar to help wearers get step by step instructions along with graphical representation for different activities.
Fitbit Blaze sports a square colour touch display and has various clock faces. While the smartwatch connects with Fitbit's own fitness app for most functions, it also lets the wearer interact with smartphone notifications like calendar, calls and texts, and helps with music controls. Fitbit claims its Blaze smartwatch can run up to five days on a single charge.
Fitbit Blaze's pricing makes it suitable to go head-to-head with rivals like Moto 360 Gen 2 (starts at Rs 17,899), Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 (Rs 29,999), Apple Watch Sport (Rs 33,000) and others. The wearables segment is slowly gaining traction and more and more companies are joining the wearable race.
Fitbit Blaze is the latest addition in the company's extensive wearable portfolio, which includes the most recent Fitbit Alta (Rs 12,990), Fitbit Surge (Rs 19,990), Fitbit Charge (Rs 12,990) and Fitbit Flex (Rs 6,990). Fitbit has rivals in the fitness tracking gadget space like Misfit and Jawbone, which offer a wide range of collection at equally competitive price.
