The first song of "The Dolphins" starring Suresh Gopi and Anoop Menon in the lead was released on Saturday. The song which begins with the lines "Ennomale Nin Kannile" has been penned by Anoop Menon and music composed by M Jayachandran. Anoop Menon's last release was the hit song "Mazhaneer Thullikal" from the film "Beautiful".
The video of the romantic number "Ennomale Nin Kannile" shows the character played by Anoop Menon singing the song in a pub. "The Dolphins", directed by Diphan, is said to be a comedy family drama. The story revolves around the life of Panayumuttam Sura (Suresh Gopi), who is based in Trivandrum. Sura owns a pub and the film focuses on the characters that come into his life through his pub.
The film will see Suresh Gopi in an interesting appearance as the actor uses Trivandrum slangs in it.
"This man (Sura), who owns many pubs, was a commoner who gradually turned rich. The film is a light-hearted tale of how Sura protects his family and takes revenge against those who turn against him. Anoop's character is a good friend of the bar owner. They celebrate life in every way they can," Diphan told to The New Indian Express.
Earlier, it was rumoured that the film would have Mohanlal in a guest role. However, the makers of the film later denied the rumours. "The Dolphins" also had the star cast of Sreenivasan, Saiju Kurup, Suraj Venjaramood, Joju Mala, Nishanth Sagar and Indrans in pivotal roles.
The film also hit the headlines when the filmmakers announced that it would have a remix version of the hit song "O Mridule" of 1982 film "Njan Ekananu" directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. Veteran actor Madhu is rumoured to be doing a cameo for this song.
The script of the film is written by Anoop Menon, while the background score is by Gopi Sunder.
The cinematography of the film has been handled by Jithu Damodar and editing by Zian Sreekanth. This Suresh Gopi-entertainer has been produced by Arun MC and Sudeep Karat under the banner of Line of Colors.
