Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee is making it to the big screen with the India-centric international film "unIndian".
The film is a romantic comedy and has Lee playing the lead role opposite Indian actress Tannishtha Chatterjee. Tannishtha is best known for her role in "Brick Lane" (2007), a British film.
Directed by Australian filmmaker of Indian origin Anupam Sharma, the shooting of "unIndian" is currently on in Sydney and some pictures from the sets have made it to the Internet.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared some images from the sets on his Facebook page with the caption: "Cricketer Bret Lee turns actor. Here's a glimpse of his first lead role in the film titled #unINDIAN..."
In the pictures, the hunk is seen dressed in blue Indian attire and dancing with his on-screen love Tannishtha.
The film has Lee play the role of a happy-go-lucky man who falls in love with an Indian mother (Tannishtha) of an eight-year-old child.
The Lee starrer is the first film produced by Australia India Film Fund (AIFF), a production company that aims at investing in Australian films with Indian subject for global audiences.
Besides the lead role in "unIndian", Lee had earlier done a cameo in bollywood film "Victory" (2009), starring Harman Baweja.
Back in 2010, Lee took retirement from Test cricket and eventually said goodbye to international cricket tournaments in July 2012. However, the cricketer still plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Big Bash League.
