OnePlus X is the company's latest offering in the upper mid range segment. After launching in late October, the device went on sale for the first time in November but through invites only. Since the invite-only model has many prospective buyers upset, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei promised to bring about a change in the invite-system so buying the device is not much of a pain.
Standing by the promise, OnePlus has officially announced the first-ever open sale for OnePlus X smartphone in India. The open sale will go live on Amazon India on 10 December at 12am.
"We promised faster roll-out of invites for the OnePlus X in November followed by an Open Sale in December? Yep. The time has finally arrived," OnePlus said in an email statement, adding that, "If you've been waiting for a chance to "up" your smartphone style-ante before the turn of the year, this is your chance to get the best-looking phone in the market today."
OnePlus adopted unique ways to sell its OnePlus X in India. On Tuesday, the Chinese smartphone maker allowed shoppers to buy OnePlus X without an invite through Ola app and delivered handsets within 15 minutes of placing the order. The company also made its flagship device, OnePlus 2 smartphone available without invites permanently.
We reviewed OnePlus X recently and found it one of the finest devices worth the price. It comes with an appealing design and powerful specs. Two sided glass design combined with metal frame gives it a premium look. OnePlus X features a 5-inch Full HD display, 13MP primary camera with LED flash and 8MP front snapper. It is powered by a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM and 16GB expandable memory up to 128GB.
In addition, the handset has OnePlus-exclusive Alert Slider and runs on a 2,525mAh battery. It uses Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based Oxygen OS and has dual SIM slots with 4G LTE support.
All these specs and features are smartly priced at Rs. 16,999, making it one of the worthiest sub-Rs. 20,000 phones in the market right now.
